My home hair colour and dye review

This is NOT a sponsored blog post. This is my own experience and opinion. I am one of those people who like to read reviews before buying some serious product like hair dye and I believe I'm not the only one so I want to help anyone in confusion.

Since I lack inspiration to write a good blog post about my life with all the pics I have (and I have a lot) I decided to write a short blog post about my hair colour because I got few questions about what kind of dye I'm using and so on. :)

First off all, I've never dyed my own hair since summer of 2013. Ever since my first dyeing (honey blonde, winter of 2010) I would always go to my amazing hair dresser every three months who uses professional hair dyes which are as natural as possible so I have no idea what dye it was.

This is how I looked when I left Lithuania:

Veeeeery bright orange (oh yeah, my hairdresser had fun that time lol)

When I decided to stay in UK longer I started wanting something darker than my usual orange/red. So...

My first home dyeing. L'Oreal Preference Mousse Absolue 465 Dark Burgundy Red

Usage: So I chose the mousse dye because I thought it will be easiest for the first time user. And it was easy. Doesn't drip and applies very easily. Leaflet with all instructions helped a lot too.

Colour and package: But oh my glob how wrong I was about the colour! No no, the colour is good itself but I forgot what kind of colour 'burgundy' is and omg...I trusted the package colour too much... It wasn't the deep dark red I wanted. It was wine red. It was like a violet and red mixed together. And violet is totally  NOT what I wanted. I don't know what they're trying to show on the package with that shiny red colour. It is far from that. I mean, it's my fault for not looking up colour before buying but the package is just wrong, c'mon...

Smell and feel: It was horrible... So much ammonia I couldn't breath even though I was dyeing near the open window... I was so scared I thought my hair would fall off from so much ammonia omg lol. And I felt a bit of skin burning. Oooooh and that annoying feeling that you just want to sink your fingers into that dye and scratch scratch scratch hahaha.

Result: Obviously not what I wanted. At first it was okay, and I was convincing myself that it's okay but little by little I started hating it more and more. Plus it wasn't even but maybe it was my fault lol.
I got one picture made with my webcam. It's really bad quality and it doesn't show how dark it actually was. Sorry, I still had my old Nokia phone with horribly picture quality and my camera was dead.

So believe me or not I dyed my hair next day...

Garnier Olia 6.60 Intense Red

Usage: It is a cream consistency which I was a bit afraid of but it has a really comfortable jar so you just squeeze the jar directly onto your hair. I chose this because damn, I just dyed my hair yesterday!! I needed something natural and less scary. Plus it's no ammonia! I'm afraid of ammonia smell from now on...

Colour and package: As I said package is really comfortable if you're not use to cream dye and/or bowls and brushes. Colour on the package is quite accurate too. When you mix the dye with developer cream it looks super orange but it isn't lol.

Smell and feel: Smells nice, no ammonia, calm breathing haha. No itchiness or burning. Loving it!!

Result: I see a lot of pictures and videos where girls get deep red with a slight orange shine after dyeing hair with this dye. But since mine was done burgundy I got this weird colour of...something. But it was red so..I guess I was okay. The orange shade I always had was completely killed because of burgundy colour that was previously used.

Different light (and different camera lol) gave a more reddish feel...

Later on it started fading and I started liking it more. After another time of dyeing with Garnier Olia again (same colour) it started looking better.

Imma kill you in your sleep lol
And omg few months in a row after colour fading enough there would always appear this ginger strand of hair right in front.. Annoyed me at first but later started liking it too haha.

Okay so after a lot of Olia usage I decided that I want to go back to being more orange haha. So yesterday after watching a lot of videos and reading a lot of reviews I decided to try another Garnier brand.

Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Colour 7.64 Intense Copper

The dye is called Intense Copper but here it says Nectarine... Oh well lol, but it's the same dye.

Usage: Cream consistency. After watching YT home hair dyeing tutorials I bought a mixing bowl and few brushes for a pound because I finally wanted to try doing it this way hehe. And it was really easy!

Colour and package: Colour on the package matches (more or less) the true colour. This is a great advantage for Garnier Nutrisse. Thumbs up!

Smell and feel: I was a bit scared after watching few YT vids because some of the girls were saying that it has a really strong ammonia smell. But I just wanted to do that because Nutrisse is slightly stronger dye which stays a little longer too. BUT the developer cream had a really nice fruity smell. I did feel the ammonia when I was mixing dye and developer cream in the bowl but it was fading little by little in that fruity sea lol. After I was done mixing the ammonia smell was almost gone. AWESOME!!! And of course, no itchiness or burning. ^^

Result: I wasn't expecting to transform into ginger overnight lol. It didn't change the colour much but it finally gave that orange shine. And my roots look like a carrot hahahaha. I kinda like that. Totally gonna use it next time. Transition to ginger started!

It still looks quite dark in direct natural light:

But you can see my orange roots lol:

Sorry for the puffy eyes. I barely slept tonight...
Ends:

But it looked really awesome in a dimmed natural light. You could totally feel the ginger in me!! Hahahahaha

To sum up: I was choosing between L'Oreal Feria and Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Colour to start my copper transition. But since I have had not very good experience with L'Oreal and this brand is known for obsessive usage of a chemicals I decided to choose Garnier. It always has a really nice fruity feel and smell. Starting to fall in love with Garnier more and more hahaha. Not to forget Garnier Olia. It was amazing and would recommend it to everyone as much as Nutrisse Ultra Colour. ♥

I hope my review helped you decide. ♥ Have a beautiful hair day.

Beautiful hair: Ombré

I feel like hiding recently...

And yes, I dyed my hair deep red not so long ago. Need to renew that colour I missed already so much!

That's not everything I did. There's this new trend called 'ombré'. It means 'shaded' in French. It's not really popular out where I live so I'm happy 'cause I hate fashion that everyone are following like some kind of parrots... .-.

So I did ombré. How this came to my mind? I first thought about blonde highlights on my red hair. But then I saw this girl who inspired me...

Omg perfection...

If someone happens to know who she is please let me know in the comments section below!
It appears that this girl is Luanna Perez-Garreaud, a blogger of a fashion blog. I'm not really into fashion but damn, she's awesome.

So here is MY ombré:

It happened to be a very slight ombré because I had to cut a lot of hair, it was really damaged, that's why. :c And bigger ombré would have looked just silly and ridiculous on shorter hair. (LIKE THIS ONE or THIS... Although people keep saying they pull this look great but sirius lee, I hate how they look...)

Here's a lower quality pic, but I wanted to show you my ombré better:

It WILL get lighter because you know, red washes off fast. But I like it when I have my faded orange lol. My blonde tips might get lighter too 'cause my hair tends to get lighter lol. I will keep you updated with my changes!

Stay original,

Extreme changes!

Good evening readers!! ^w^

Today I'm feeling AWESOME. Yesterday I dyed my hair!!! Remember this?
P.S.: I'm gonna dye my hair for the first time on Thursday!!!!!! I'm damn excited and can't wait for it!! Willing to show you photos later!!!~ --- 2010.11.30
So yeah. I wanted to make them soft orange, but things changed and I have them almost blond now. Well, there are a little bit shade of orange.. XDD ALSO I HAVE BANGS!!!! XD ♥ I haven't got bangs for about 3-4 years. I actually missed them a little. :3
Here are the some pics!

Yeaaaaah hair dresser cut it a lot. But I actually missed my shorter hair!! I'm sitting now with a tied up ponytail and it is so short, curly and cute!!! ^w^ ♥ I just love it.
By the way, I dunno how things will go with my bangs, since my hair likes to curl and so. Oh well, no I will need to take GOOD CARE of them. ;D
I am so extremely HAPPY with my new look!!! ^w^
Don't like - don't watch. That's what I always say. ;P
BTW! Sometimes it looks like I am an European version of Jessica Jung from Girls' Generation (SNSD). LMAO! Well, I actually tried to copy her hairstyle which is awesome. :3 And my friend said that I look like Korean girl! ;D
P.S.: I think that I'm on the edge of getting cold... I'm not feeling very well. XP So I just made a healthy BOMB. Healthy tea with honey and some cocoa butter. I hope it'll help since I really want to go out tomorrow... X(((

Bun-bun maniac~

Do you know what's the most comfortable hairstyle in the world?! Bun bun!!!! And especially: bun with chopsticks!~

Yes!! And stop eating with those!!

Living in a country far away from Japanese or any other East Asian culture is really hard when you are interested in it. The only one Japanese shop I knew closed more than a year ago... T^T But I still managed to buy chopsticks here or there. Lets ignore the fact that these chopsticks are supposed to be for eating... ;D I said stop eating with those!!!!~
After a lot of practice and Youtube hair tutorials I managed to learn how to do this bun. Gosh... XD Here are my hairstyles with chopsticks!~
I love these chopsticks!! They are pure Japanese and has really cute white bunnies with golden moon!~ ^^ ♥
Smooth..~ ;D
A true snail!!! XD By the way this is a photo from my '365' project. ;P
Now this one... I like the best. ;DD :
Messy bun!!!! ;D No idea how it came out like that... O_o
So yeah girls, this isn't the style that's really hard to archive. As they say..: Practice makes perfect. But no one is perfect so don't... NEVERMIND! Just try your best!! And you'll really make it! ^^
Good luck. ♥

Straight hair madness

Have you got it?! I have!! >< I always had wavy (and MESSY) hair. And I started wanting hair straightener a few months ago. And I got it!! Well it was about month ago when I bought it...

Don't mind that hoodie. It was a shopping day and this photo was taken from my 365 photos project. Haha.
I'm not going to talk about that straightener that I bought. All I have to say that Remington is a really good brand!!~ ^^ And I really recommend you buying a straightener that has changeable temperature. ;]
But I want to write a blog post about advantages and disadvantages of having straight hair! This is what I checked and wrote down one day.

+

  • Straight hair looks shinier.
  • It also looks longer.
  • It becomes very easy to make fast hairstyles like simple ponytail.
  • You can make cute bangs with a good shape (not the ones that I had for about 15 years of my life...).
  • When you have straight hair, it don't really require to have any other hairstyle! You can just leave them the way they are!

-

  • You must use heat protection products every time if you want to keep them healthy.
  • You must use straightener ONLY on dry hair. Don't believe me? O_o I have heard some stupid girls were posting nonsense in forums like saying that using straightener on wet hair makes not necessary water to disappear. Bullshit!!! As you know water starts to boil at 100C/212F temperature. And straightener is 140-230C/284-446F temperature. When you straighten wet hair, water in your hair starts to boil. Bubbles start to appear and it makes big holes in your hair. And it can BREAK. Not the ends. It can break in the middle of your hair or even near you scalp! I don't think that you want to lose your hair... So don't try to straightening them wet!!!
  • Fashion cult! Meaning? Means that a lot of people have straight hair now. So it can be a little bit difficult for you to stand out. ;] But it doesn't really matter. If you have really nice healthy hair, you can look awesome even standing in a hundred straight haired girls crowd... Well, not really... XDD BUT you can always try. ;DD
- - - - -
So yeah. As you can see I actually found more advantages than disadvantages. XD Oh, lucky you straight haired people. Having no problems at all. Differently than me. ;D But you know what I found out? I look great both ways! Having straight or curly hair suits me perfectly. XD

P.S.: Sorry that I don't have many good straight haired photos. Didn't make those yet. XD
Happy straightening!~ And keep your hair healthy!! ^^

Chopsticks hairstyle

Hello everybody!!!

I wasn't writing anything here for kinda long time. That a bit sucks. But you know school and stuff... Boring and tiring.

So today is my second winter vacation day! Christmas Eve too! So I guess it's like our family tradition to look nice at this evening. So I washed my hair, let them dry and I thought that today I will make a hairstyle with chopsticks. Well, I do it a lot when I'm at home. It's really comfortable you know. XD

So at evening, when I was going in the shower, I touched my bun and was so surprised, it finally come out really nice. O_O

I tried so many times that it should look like a snail, but I couln't make it that way. >.< But today was my lucky day!!! XD Geez people, tell me, why all hairstyles and make-ups went good when you aren't going anywhere..? XDD

Oh! And I also noticed, that my hair looks really nice in this hairstyle from the back. And I really have nice hair color. Wow... O_o XDD
